The wellbeing experiences we loved in Leeds in January

As we keep our 2018 good resolutions going, let’s share with you our best wellbeing experiences in Leeds and Yorkshire in January – have a look at our November and December selection on Mind It’s blog.

This month, we discovered and enjoyed four initiatives from various fields (Dance / Massage / Networking / Singing), all Leeds-based, and full of positive vibes! Here they are:

  • We started our year with a short presentation at Leeds Trinity Business Network – back on track on the 4th of January, sharing our ‘From Stressful to Mindful’ workshop… in 10 minutes! Challenge accepted! The January Leeds Trinity Business Network in Horsforth focused on ‘New Year, New You’ and gathered wellbeing stalls and talks. We shared our top ten tips on how to start a healthy 2018, and got a very positive feedback. If you missed the event and would like our tips, read the blog article and listen to the podcast! We love the atmosphere of Leeds Trinity Business Network and highly recommend you to take part to the next Networking event (28th of February): register here, it’s free and we always get inspiration and great contacts!

actually keep attending every week now!). We tried the Monday evening choreography class with Donald as well as the Tuesday evening Contemporary Dance Class with Rose, and loved it!! It’s a great atmosphere, simultaneously relaxed and challenging, with live music and such a positive energy to get you dancing! Everyone would find something to dance about at NSCD: beginners dance class on Wednesday, Improvers/Advanced dance Class on Tuesday, Technique Choreography and Performance on Monday, Zumba on Monday, as well as many dance classes for children. And even though the courses might be full for this term, you can still apply for the next term! We love it and would not miss our weekly dance class for any reason now! For more information, visit NSCD’s website.

in the beautiful County Arcade in Leeds city centre – and actually felt an unexpected back pain relief just through little pressure points Nadine administered. Surprising, isn’t it? It is actually what the EMMETT Technique is all about. The EMMETT Technique is “based on the belief that light touch can trigger a relaxation response in the soft tissue of the body” (see EMMETT Website). Nadine is also an expert in No Hand Massage and does miracles to relieve your pain! Find all her details on her LinkedIn profile.

The Relax-Sing session is dedicated to mums and mum-to-be. It enables you to relax and sing in a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, connect with your baby (or baby-to-be!) and meet new people. Each session is based on Indian singing, and includes humming, breathing exercises, singing notes and lullabies. Inspirations Central is based in the Chapeltown Enterprise Centre and offers a wide range of activities for children and adults, around music, crafting, and overall spending quality time with other people! Have a look at their website to discover all their wellbeing sessions.
